Heart of Illinois Conference
Heart of Illinois Conference Code of Conduct PDF Print E-mail

The Heart of Illinois Conference Code of Conduct was created by student-athletes from HOIC schools and is designed to inform coaches, participating players, spectators, and others about the expectations and standards regarding sportsmanship at athletic events.  Sportsmanship is a point of emphasis for HOIC schools and those involved in sporting events in any capacity should be aware of these expectations.  The code is as follows:

-- Respect our game, yourself, and others
-- Respect our officials at all times
-- Show sportsmanship in victory or defeat
-- Be positive in your actions and comments
-- Never single out an athlete with criticism
-- Set a good example for us and those around you
-- Cheer for good play
-- Practice self-control
-- Remember: This is a game.  We are here to have fun.

Baseball and Softball Tournaments Begin May 12th PDF Print E-mail

The HOIC baseball and softball tournaments will begin Monday May 12th and run throughout the week.  Final games will be played on Saturday May 17th.  Brackets for each tournament will be set after games played on Thursday May 8th and will be made public on Friday May 9th.  Check back to this website for bracket updates on the baseball and softball pages.  Updates will also be available via Twitter @HOIconference.  Brackets will be set after Thursday even though there are still games to be played on Friday and some make-up games on Saturday.  This is to help schools prepare transportation, hosting arrangements, and dismissal times for the tournament which begins on Monday.  This also helps umpires and fans prepare for traveling to their respective games.  Current standings are available on the baseball and softball pages of this website.  Click on Sports and follow the appropriate links to each page.  UPDATED BRACKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON EACH SPORT'S PAGE OR BY CLICKING THE LINK IN THE TWITTER FEED.  These will updated throughout the tournament.
