EPG Girls, Tremont Boys Win Conference Track Meet PDF Print E-mail

The El Paso-Gridley girls and Tremont boys took home top honors at the 2016 McLean County/HOIC Track Meet on Tuesday May 3rd in Tremont.  GCMS was the runner-up for both the girls and boys meet.  Ridgeview edged out Dee-Mack for third place on the girls side while EPG finished comfortably in 3rd place on the boys side.  Good luck to all track and field athletes in the post-season.

 
LeRoy Wins 1A Boys Basketball State Title PDF Print E-mail

LeRoy's boys basketball team finished off a terrific season and impressive post-season run by edging Chicago Leo 38-35 in the Class 1A Boys Basketball State Championship.  The
Panthers finished 28-5 for the season, including a 9-3 mark in HOIC play.  It was the third straight year that the HOIC was represented in the 1A state tournament (Heyworth finished 2nd in 2014 and Ridgeview finished 3rd in 2015).  It was also the fourth time in the last six years (Dee-Mack finished 4th in 2011).  Congratulations to the Panthers and the entire LeRoy community.  Thank you for representing the HOIC in such a positive way.

 
Ridgeview Boys, Tremont Girls Take McLean County Basketball Tourney Titles PDF Print E-mail

The Ridgeview boys and Tremont girls each repeated as champions of the McLean County/HOIC Basketball Tournaments.  In the girls tournament, #3 Tremont defeated #1 LeRoy in the championship while #4 FCW downed #7 Heyworth for 3rd place, #2 EPG beat #5 Fieldcrest for 5th place, and #11 Dee-Mack took the consolation championship over #8 Fisher.  The final girls bracket is available here.

In the boys tournament, #2 Ridgeview defeated #4 LeRoy in the championship while #3 Fieldcrest took third place with a win over #8 Blue Ridge.  Top-seeded Flanagan-Cornell topped #7 EPG for 5th place and #9 Fisher downed #10 GCMS in the consolation championship.  The final boys bracket is available here.  Congratulations to all of the winners and a special thanks to all who made the tournament a success.

 
Regular Season Basketball Champs PDF Print E-mail

The Flanagan-Cornell boys basketball team finished the HOIC season with a record of 10-2, earning them the regular season championship.  Congratulations to the Falcons for winning a very competitive conference.

On the girls side, LeRoy and Tremont each finished 11-1 to share the regular season title.  Congratulations to the Panthers and Turks for being co-champions this year.

 
Tri-Valley Wins 2A Football State Title PDF Print E-mail

HOIC co-champion Tri-Valley defeated Auburn 41-8 to win the IHSA Class 2A Football State Championship.  The win capped off a perfect 14-0 season for the Vikings.  Congratulations to Tri-Valley on this great achievement.
