Dee-Mack Volleyball Wins 2A State Title PDF Print E-mail

Dee-Mack defeated Dakota in three sets to win their 2nd Class 2A volleyball state title in the last three years.  The Chiefs won the state championship in 2012 and finished third in 2013.  Congratulations to Dee-Mack for another great volleyball run as they represented the HOIC in fine fashion.  Each year, the HOIC displays some of the best 1A/2A volleyball in the state of Illinois.

 
Tri-Valley wins HOIC Volleyball Tournament PDF Print E-mail

#2 Tri-Valley defeated top-seeded and regular season champion Dee-Mack 21-25, 25-17, 25-20 to win the 2014 McLean County/HOIC Volleyball Tournament.  The Vikings last won the tournament in 2012 and this is their 3rd tournament title in the 9-year history of the HOIC.  #3 Fieldcrest defeated #5 Lexington for 3rd place while #4 Heyworth downed #6 Tremont to win the 5th place match.  EPG defeated LeRoy to win the Consolation Championship.  The final 2014 McLean County/HOIC Volleyball Tournament bracket can be accessed by clicking here.

Fall Champions -- Dee-Mack in VB, Fieldcrest in FB PDF Print E-mail

Congratulations to Dee-Mack for completing an undefeated conference season and winning the 2014 HOIC Volleyball regular season title.  The Chiefs edged out second place Tri-Valley (11-1) to win the championship.  Dee-Mack has won at least a share of the conference title in HOIC volleyball eight times in the nine-year history of the conference.  Final regular season standings can be accessed by clicking here.

Fieldcrest took the football title with an unblemished 8-0 conference record, edging out EPG (7-1).  This is the Knights' first outright conference title in football after sharing last year's championship with Tri-Valley.  Final regular season football standings can be accessed by clicking here.

 
EPG Boys, LeRoy Girls Win HOIC Golf Titles PDF Print E-mail

El Paso-Gridley's boys golf team scored a 59-shot victory over 2nd place GCMS in the 2014 HOIC Golf Tournament.  LeRoy finished 3rd.  It is the fifth consecutive conference title for EPG's boys golf team.  All six of the EPG golfers scored in the top 10 for the tournament.  EPG's Michael Mounce (70) edged teammate Branden Mounce (71) to claim the top score.

On the girls side, LeRoy won its second straight title with a 37-stroke victory over 2nd place Blue Ridge with Fieldcrest finishing third.  LeRoy placed four of its golfers in the tournament's top 10.  Courtney Monier shot 87 to head the leaderboard.
