Congratulations to the Heyworth Hornets for winning the 2019 HOIC Wrestling Duals. Heyworth finished 6-1 and won the head-to-head with LeRoy/Tri-Valley (also 6-1) for the title. Tremont and EPG finished 5-2.

GCMS won its 28th straight game to complete back-to-back undefeated seasons en route to its 2nd consecutive 2A football championship. The Falcons defeated Maroa-Forsyth 35-16 in a rematch of the 2017 state championship game. This marked the 4th consecutive 2A state title for the HOIC — Tri-Valley in 2015, Dee-Mack in 2016, GCMS in 2017 and 2018.

The Eureka Girls Cross-Country team, led by state champion Emma Argo, won the 1A team title at the IHSA state cross country meet. El Paso-Gridley finished 7th in both the girls and boys meets while Eureka’s boys finished 10th. Congratulations to all!

GCMS (5-0, 9-0) completed an undefeated regular season to claim the HOIC Large Division football title while LeRoy (5-0, 5-4) won its showdown with Fisher (4-1, 7-2) to claim the Small Division crown. Overall, six HOIC schools advanced to the IHSA playoffs: Eureka (8-1) in 3A; GCMS (9-0), Tri-Valley (5-4), and Fieldcrest (5-4) in 2A; and Fisher (7-2) and LeRoy (5-4) in 1A. Good luck to all HOIC schools in the playoffs!

Top-seed Eureka swept #2 Tri-Valley to win the 2018 McLean County/HOIC. The Hornets add the tournament title to their regular season title, which resulted from an undefeated conference season. All HOIC teams now move on to the IHSA state series. Good luck to all schools this postseason and congratulations to Eureka!
